This morning I went to WalMart and Lowe's to buy potting soil and some plastic storage bins so I could transplant the veggies above ground into the storage bins. I also bought three large flower pots to plant my tomato plants, since I had so much luck with my tomato plant last year in a pot. It grew taller than me! In a pot! So hopefully these grow just as well. It should, since the sun never ever goes away down here.
Because I uprooted my veggies, I know have more room in my yard, so I bought a few different flowers to plant along the walkway for a pop of color.
It was extremely really hot work, but I'm rewarding myself after by taking Bryan for coffee. He won a bet so I owe win one ;) I'll put some picture up of the updated garden when I get the last tomato plant uprooted, I didn't buy enough potting soil. Hopefully, though, this actually increases their chances of survival, since the potting soil has some plant food in it already. I think this soil will be better than the ground soil, anyway. I just hope the plastic containers allow for good drainage. We're in the south, though, so I shouldn't have to worry too much about the soil being really wet. We'll see!
Guess what happened to my garden!? Workers came to pressure wash the fence and they didn't put up protection of any kind! They pressure washed all my plants/vegies!!!! All of them are ruined! Good thing we ate the radishes the other day other than that though we will not have any pumpkins, watermelons, lettuce, corn, tomatoes etc..:-( On the upside the Basil was moved to the front side of our place away from the pressure washing and it has resurrected.
