Tip-toeing Through the Tulips

So I actually don't have any tulips in my yard, but let's just pretend I do. For alliteration's sake.

Well, a storm be a brewin' on the home front, so I am inside, watching the thunderstorm, and blogging. Go me. I thought I would take some pictures of my flower garden today and share them, since my blog has been severely lacking in pictures as of late.

It's hard to believe I took these pictures 3 hours ago. Currently, it's pitch black outside and pouring down rain.

Here I have vinca and petunias in one pot, marigolds that are busy puilding some blooms, and cilantro in the brown pot. If you are a beginner gardener, like myself, definitely try growing some vinca. At least down here in Mississippi, it grows like a weed and you don't have to do anything to it. Just plant it and watch it grow! It does like lots of water, though. They grow so much, along with the petunias, the vinca choked out the marigolds I also planted in the pot.

You must excuse the fogginess. It's so humid here that the camera lens fogs up when you take it outside. Since I'm impatient, and had a 75 pound dog in the other hand, I didn't wait for the lens to adjust. So foggy it is.

My beloved purple pot, with vinca and petunias, and thyme growing in a smaller purple striped pot

Jack had to sneak in

It's my dog's best side, really :)

Strategically placed on either side of the garage door, under the eaves so Southern storms such as the one we're experiencing now don't destroy them.

Walkway to the front door. These are dark purple petunias and marigolds, with a struggling vinca up front

My "corner garden." I planted some snow pea seeds. The green pot has a purple calla lily, and I have some green onions, some basil, and mustard greens trying to grow in pots

My purple calla. The flowers don't open up very much, unfortunately

These little seedlings popped up from the potting soil from last year! When they get a little bigger I'll move them around so they're not random. They were a nice surprise!

The corner right by the front door. I have some day lilies, mint growing in the purple pot, and more vinca. And a dog.

Jack always cleans up the sticks for me :)

Vinca!

Poor Huey is still not allowed outside. Sad day for him.

Fuzzy fuzzy

He always goes for the dirt. Always.

Hey bud!
