So this is my favorite Disney movie:

Yup! Sleeping Beauty! Honestly, I think Sleeping Beauty is my favorite princess just because she's in my favorite Disney movie. There really is nothing all that special about her, except her beauty and her singing voice. I mostly just love the fact that she wanders around the forest singing with the forest animals. Who wouldn't want that? And then a beautiful handsome prince finds her. Aw, how romantic! I am always a sucker for romantic movies.
Another thing that draws me to the movie is these 3 ladies:

Gotta love them! The whole movie they spend time trying to learn how to live in a cottage and care for it like normal "humans." Can't help but laugh at their cake and sewing abilities! As daft as they seem in this area, they are also the ones who completely outsmart the evil queen. I love when evil gets beat more by brains and thinking than just pure might.
So really, it's not the princess that I'm really drawn to, but the movie. Such a classic! And Sleeping Beauty has the most awesome names: Aurora and Briar Rose.
And I will end with the classic fight that all girls have had growing up: Does Briar Rose look better in pink...

...or blue? I'll let you guess which one I like!
you like the purple one duh! lol Gosh I feel dumb I should of guessed that because you said you liked the name Aurora, when we were talking about baby names,.. or pet names. lol I can't remember.
ReplyDeleteAurora was definitely for a cat name, not a kid name, LOL!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I love it, I will have to do this! But who to pick?! I think I relate most to Rapunzel, but Aurora and Belle were my favorites growing up. Maybe I'll just have to pick all three? ;) I love this movie too-its one of those that I watched so many times I could hum along with all the music and sound effects and speak the lines. One thing I love about it too is the art. Have you ever watched the documentaries about the filming and such? They used a wider film, thus the backgrounds and everything had to be more detailed. Took them 6 years to make the movie, jeesh! I think the style is just beautiful and so medieval, I know they were inspired by this tapestry, http://www.flickr.com/photos/28433765@N07/3312502852/ and I can definitely see it. Aurora is a gorgeous name too, I think I thought about it once as a possible daughter's middle name, lol. You could always use "Rose" and Briar Rose would be a good nickname ;). I love Mary Costa and Bill Shirley's voices too. Did you know that Bill Shirley did the singing voice of Freddy Einsford Hill in My Fair Lady? I love him singing "On the Street Where You Live"- its so Prince Philip :).
